Pomeranian Therapy

Meet Cindy-Rella.  She’s my new rescue Pom.  She’s 15 years old.  She came from a hoarding situation in Kentucky where she was rescued.  She has hip & leg atrophy.  With a lot of coaxing and good arthritis medication, she’s started walking again and we’re so proud of her.  Apparently, she sat in a cage, in a small area, for a very long period of time, probably years.  The poor thing was so matted with feces and urine that she needed to be shaved upon rescue  She’s finally getting her hair to grow back.  I’m in love with her.  She is so tiny and delicate.

We’ve had her since Saturday, December 27th when we met up with the rescue foster and took possession of her for our own.  She’s taken on the alpha role of our “pack” and has the boys intimidated. LOL!  Poor guys.  She’s definitely a charmer.  She’s got us all wrapped around her little paw.

Today, we went to Pet Smart to get her nails trimmed and now her mobility has improved a lot.  She can now walk on the floor without slipping.  I’m already so in love with her.  I made her a dress, too.  One that just Velcro’s on because I don’t want to hurt her already sore hips and legs.  She looks adorable in it, too!

I know I won’t have as much time with her as I’d like; but what time I do have with her will be great.  I will treat her like the princess that she is.

We’ve changed her diet from Little Caesars to home cooked meals.  She gets a scrambled egg for breakfast, some Science diet dry food and for dinner she gets a meat/rice/veggie dish.  Right now it is chicken and green beans, which she devours.  So happy to see her eating well and getting better. ❤
