It’s Been a Year

Today marks one year since I brought Honi home from the vet before she passed on Christmas Eve, marking the 2nd year in a row I lost one of my babies. Teddy 12/24/20 & Honi 12/24/21.

I suffered so hard over these losses. I can’t recall if I mentioned it or not; but last February, my son’s ex-girlfriend asked me to take her two little dogs. I told her, “Of course.” And that she could claim them when she was in a better place. Trixie & Gidgette came home to be with us and now we have 3 babies. Dixie the Boxer/Boston Terrier mix, Trixie a tiny poodle mix, & Gidgette the Pomeranian.

Trixie is something else. LOL! She runs around and does crazy, bad dog things and then runs toward me, jumps into my lap, and has to have a cuddle fest. She cracks me up. She’s mostly white with a tan right eye patch and ear. I mention this because the girl is constantly getting filthy. She and Dixie will get rambunctious and zip around the yard and she’ll come back in looking like a dirty birdy. LOL! Cracks me up and she ends up in the tub. Gidgette is my son’s love. She adores him and he her. She hides under my bed all day and as soon as he comes home, she’s ecstatic and runs for his room to cuddle him all night.

When I go to bed, Trixie jumps on the bed and then lays on my back. She’s got to be close. So now, I share a king-sized bed with Dixie & Trixie. Boy, am I glad I’m single. LOL!

Hurricane Ian was pretty bad. We lost part of a tree in the front yard and our two orange trees in the back. We were out of electricity for a week and am so grateful it wasn’t more. This makes the 3rd Category 5 hurricane I survived and am I ever grateful.

I’ve been suffering terribly with sinus/allergies ever since. This is not helping my Trigeminal Neuralgia at all. All the pressure and swelling of my sinuses presses on the nerves and it’s giving me blinding pain daily. UGH!

The weekend before the hurricane was my son’s best friend’s wedding. He was best man, and I was photographer. It was beautiful. We enjoyed the day, and I made a scrapbook for them.

This past weekend, I attended one of my friend’s bridal shower. What fun. Food and friends always make a great combination. Same with Thanksgiving! Food, friends, & fun!!!

Currently, I’m working on Christmas gifts for the kids. I’m making the littles rag dolls and have purchased items for the older ones. I’m always so happy to be giving to those I love.

Went to my parents place first weekend in December. My sister was down from NY, and it was nice to see her. We hadn’t seen each other in 6 years. Good visit.

I’ve been crafting up a storm. At first it was for a craft show in October; but thanks to the hurricane, it was cancelled, so I’ve got a bunch of stuff made. (sigh)

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!!
